Book Bingo Reading Challenge ๐Ÿค“

The Book Bingo Reading Challenge is back! ๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ“š You can see this year’s sheet below, and they are available to collect in the library. โœŒ

How it works

  • There are sixteen boxes in the grid
  • Each one describes a different type of book
  • The aim is to read as many of the different types of books that you can, but also to complete them in lines (vertically, diagonally, or horizontally)
  • If you complete at least one line or more you will receive a certificate and prize at the end of the year
  • The more you complete the better the certificate and prize!
  • After each book you have read, fill the title in the relating box and bring it to the librarian to be signed.
  • Only one box may be filled per book read
  • For example, this years โ€˜One School One Bookโ€™ selection, The Weight of Water, could be placed in โ€˜a novel that deals with bullyingโ€™.
  • You have until the end of the school year to complete as many boxes as you can (May 2016)
  • Certificates are as follows:

1 Line โ€“ Bronze Cert

2 lines โ€“ Silver Cert

4 lines (whole grid) โ€“ Gold Cert

Happy Reading Week!! ๐Ÿ“š ๐Ÿ“–

As well as all of the fun competitions happening during Reading Week, the school library is launching the BOOK BINGO READING CHALLENGE. ๐Ÿ˜ƒย It was a great success last year and lots of girls received CERTIFICATES AND PRIZES at the end of the year. This year I would love to see it built upon and have a lot more of you challenge yourselves to it! It’s a reading challenge that is suitable for the WHOLE SCHOOL as you decide which books you will read based on the challenges in the grid. The rules and grid are below. Everything will be available in the library so drop in if you want to pick up the sheet and get going! As we are all reading The Outsiders this week, it means by the end of the week you will have one box to check off. If there are any questions COMMENT BELOW or drop into the libraryย ๐Ÿ˜Š

  • For example, this years โ€˜One School One Bookโ€™ selection, The Outsiders, could be placed in either โ€˜a novel that was made into a filmโ€™, โ€˜a novel about friendshipโ€™, or โ€˜a novel that deals with bullyingโ€™, but only one of those boxes of your choosing.
  • You have until the end of the school year to complete as many boxes as you can (May 2016)
  • Certificates are as follows:

There is a list of recommendations for each type of book in the library and on the libraryโ€™s Google Classroom
